What are these?

i made these tea blocks based on a person's favorite things - their favorite food, aesthetic, flavors, shapes, and colors. every tea block here was made for someone who made an impact in my life.

unfortunately, some of the people here i don't talk to anymore for better or for worse. these are just part of the memories i had with them. but i cherish the ones who still do talk to me and make it worth being around.

What is a tea block?

tea blocks are just compressed blocks of tea leaves, sometimes called tea bricks. they would pick off part of the tea brick with a needle or knife to put into their cup. sometimes they were used as currency in some parts of asia rather than actually used.

in a similar vein, special ink sticks of compressed ink also served to commemorate a person's legacy rather than used for calligraphy. these ink blocks would have the person's life story written on them and displayed as heirlooms.

What is the keychain for?

these were intended for one to put a piece of their favorite tea block and grind them on the built in grate inside the lid, so one can have their tea on the go.

it's purely my invention, but these keychains were made specifically for people who i deemed really special.
